About Casa Capricho
As you step into the Andalusian-style courtyard of this elegant, early 18th-century San Miguel villa, you enter a world of tranquility, luxury and history. Beautifully restored first in 1985 and then updated and refurbished in 2005, this 7,000-square-foot, one-story residence is one of only four major properties in San Miguel with its original four-sided, columned loggia courtyard intact. Less than two short blocks from the Jardin and steps away from San Miguel's finest restaurants and shops, this grand old property is a showcase of the best of Spanish architecture in colonial Mexico, featuring ancient cantera archways, high ceilings with hand-finished hardwood beams, handmade terracotta floors and oversized doors of mahogany and beveled glass.
The stately colonial interiors have been re-imagined for modern living -- with a mix of antiques and stunning contemporary furnishings. There are four master suites (three kings and one with two twins close together) outfitted with the finest linens, one additional bedroom above the kitchen patio with two double beds, and a sixth bedroom that can be used as a sitting room or extra room with a double bed for a personal assistant or other visitor during your stay. All bedrooms have fireplaces and adjoining private bathrooms.

Up a newly erected stone staircase is the spacious roof terrace with vistas of the countryside on one side and the steeples and domes of the nearby Parroquia church, the heart and soul of Centro San Miguel, on the other.
To cater to your every need during your San Miguel stay, Casa Capricho comes fully staffed with a bi-lingual majordomo/house manager (who lives in an apartment on the property), a chambermaid, a cook (to prepare breakfast and mid-day comida) and a gardener.
