About Casa Que Canta
Experience the magic of San Miguel with a stay at the romantic Casa Que Canta ("House That Sings," thus named for the many song birds kept as pets by the owners).
Located on a quiet street in the historic district just minutes away from the Jardin and all the fine shops and restaurants, this lovely two-bedroom, three-bathroom property is a true oasis in the middle of town.
All rooms look out onto lush gardens or patios, accented with cantera stonework fountains, fragrant star jasmine and colorful bougainvillea. As you open the front gate from the street into the entry courtyard, you get the full sense of what it means to be "behind the walls" in San Miguel.
A quaint casita to the right is where you'll find the guest room, with its tranquil sitting area and small private bath. Step through an inner gate into the enchanting main garden, which you cross on a stone footpath to proceed to the main house.
This is where you find the fully equipped kitchen that's well tended by Margarita the maid, the cozy living room with fireplace, the colorful dining room with a second fireplace, plus the TV den with its own full bathroom and a third fireplace. Upstairs is the master bedroom/bathroom and a wonderful roof terrace on two levels, including an outdoor fireplace and small fridge.
The two bedrooms of the house and casita are well separated, which makes this a perfect getaway for two couples or an ideal setup for one couple who might enjoy hosting visitors.
The real surprise of Casa Que Canta is its utterly charming rooftop terrace, complete with a covered seating area, and the overall panoramic vista of city and countryside looking toward the western sunset.
The house has a DVD player, CD player, 2 TVs with U.S. stations, gas heaters in each bedroom, and good quality linens. Wi/fi Internet service is provided.
Margarita comes 5 days a week, Mon - Fri, primarily to clean, but she also can cook simple meals for an extra tip (and you pay for the ingredients) and do small loads of personal laundry.
Rental Rates for Casa Que Canta

Monthly: From $4500
A 8% line item for Mexican taxes and administrative fees will be added to all rental rates.
Please note that a 20% holiday surcharge is added to all rental rates during Christmas, New Year's, Day of the Dead and Semana Santa (week before Easter).
