Looking for luxury lodging in the Centro of San Miguel with a cool, sophisticated style and top-flight amenities? Then Casa Estana on Calle Umaran is the vacation villa for you!
This newly renovated and beautifully furnished high-style charmer has two bedrooms in the main house, plus a casita at the front of the property with a third, very private bedroom. Your rental includes the whole property with a maximum occupancy of six people: the main house that can sleep up to four guests (with king bed in the master and queen bed in the second bedroom) and the casita with an extra queen bedroom to accommodate up to two more guests. The house would work very well for two or three couples traveling together, yet it is equally comfortable for one solo couple.
Each bedroom is plushly outfitted with top quality sheets, a gas fireplace and its own flat-screen TV. An additional 42-inch flat-screen TV is in the third-floor den/media room, which also includes a Bose theater and Blu-Ray DVD system.
You enter Casa Estana through an unassuming doorway – and come into a calming oasis of neutral colors and gracious spaces. From the entry foyer, you can climb stairs to the casita or continue through a stone courtyard to the iron gates that lead into the main house. On this level, there are two courtyards, with lovely stone fountains. The living room and its adjoining dining room make an elegant space for entertaining, served by the spacious kitchen.
Upstairs, you’ll find the master suite, including its dual-sink bathroom (complete with bidet and large tiled shower) and a southern-facing terrace with lounging area. Well separated from the master is the second guest bedroom, which features a walk-in closet and a bathroom with tub. The separate guest casita has a shower bathroom and its own little terrace with café table and chairs, plus a mini fridge to store drinks.
Casa Estana has it all – a total of four fireplaces (one is in the living room too) with remote controls, in-floor radiant heating (for an extra heating cost to those who want it), Bose music system indoors and out, wi/fi Internet access throughout, two cell phones for guest use (each with $10 USD credit to get you started), a digital music library with 80,000 songs (also able to play CDs), an iPod Bose docking station, hairdryers in each bathroom and a cable phone system that provides free calling back to the U.S. and Canada.
The sleek marble kitchen on the ground level is fully equipped with juicer, microwave, coffee grinder, espresso machine, electric tea kettle, dishwasher, five-burner stove, convection oven and a whole-house water filtration system. Up on the third level of the house, in the first of two roof terraces, you’ll find an outdoor kitchen with BBQ grill, fridge, two-burner stove and sink – so you have easy cooking and food/drink access while enjoying the outdoor dining arbor. On the second roof terrace, you have a gas fire pit and seating circle for enjoying the incredible vistas of the western mountains and the evening sunset, as well as the church spires of San Miguel.
Maid service is provided six days a week (Monday – Friday from 9 am to 3 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 12 noon). Veronica the housekeeper/property manager does laundry twice weekly and ironing 6 days a week. Veronica also can prepare your breakfast (her cooking services are included during her regular hours, but you pay extra for the actual food) and an occasional mid-day comida. She would be available to cook after her regular hours with advance arrangement and then you would simply pay her overtime hourly rate of 150 pesos/hour (with a 3-hour minimum), plus cab fare home after dark.
Casa Estana also welcomes travelers with one small dog (up to 25 pounds) – with special pet requirements and an extra daily rate, plus pet security deposit. Please ask the rental agent for more details.
To welcome you to this veritable luxury hideaway, the owner also offers a “Bienvenidos Basket†at the start of each rental period.

Please note that a 20% holiday surcharge is added to all rental rates during Christmas, New Year's, Day of the Dead and Semana Santa (week before Easter).
