Amid the fine restaurants and upscale dining experiences in San Miguel, visitors can still savor the best of simple Mexican cooking. For a very special taco crawl, be sure to visit the following taco vendors:
* El Pato Barbacoa & Mixiotes
Calzada de la Estacion #112 (beyond the bus station heading south out of town)
Highly regarded for its lamb barbacoa tacos, served with a bowl of consomme.
*Don Taco Tequila
Calle Hernandez-Macias #83 (at corner with Calle Umaran)
Great in-town snacking spot for a variety of tacos with a very fresh array of salsas. Open daily from 2 pm – 10 pm.
*Taco Lab
Calle Relox #18, inside the Doce18 Concept House in the back
A changing menu of taco specials. We especially love the cochinita pibil tacos!
*Don Santos Tacos
Calle Clavel #8 (off Refugio Sur in Colonia San Antonio)
Go after 6:30 pm to order their delicious “Taco del Res”!
*Andy’s Taco Cart
Apearing at the corner of Calle Insurgentes and Calle Hidalgo after 8 pm
Ask for “Tacos al Pastor” with extra pineapple – muy rico!
*Hermanos Bautista
Calle Guadiana #2
Open at 7 am, so totally appropriate to order tacos for breakfast!
